Religious Freedom Week, formerly Fortnight for Freedom, will run from June 22-29. This letter should be printed in your bulletin next weekend, June 16/17.
There are a few events in the diocese to mark this week:
Friday 6/22, 9 a.m.
Opening Mass at Our Lady of Consolation. A presentation by Kathryn Mulderink entitled “Religious Liberty: Right Here. Right Now.” will immediately follow Mass, light refreshments and conversation will follow the talk.
Tuesday 6/26, 6:30 p.m.
Evening Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary. A presentation by attorney John Burschen titled “Religious Liberty, Sex, and the Church” will immediately follow Mass. Light refreshments and conversation will follow the talk.
Friday 6/29, 6:30 p.m.
Closing Mass at St. Paul the Apostle with Bishop Walkowiak presiding. A musical presentation will precede Mass at 6 p.m., with light refreshments and conversation to follow Mass.
